Mrs. Morrison is an English teacher who has been teaching for 21 years. She received her Bachelor's degree from Connecticut College and her Masters in Special Education from Southern State University in Connecticut.   She believes teaching chose her because she was a waitress for several years when the restaurant where she worked closed suddenly.  She got a call from her local elementary school asking her to consider applying for a paraprofessional special education position.  She applied, got the job and the rest is history! She loved being in the classroom so much that she had an epiphany that she was made to be a teacher.  She wanted to not only teach content, but more importantly, to make a difference in the students' lives by showing them that they were worthy, gifted individuals that could succeed.

A fun and interesting fact about Mrs. Morrison is that she once jumped out of a perfectly good plane to skydive.  The experience was harrowing and she is lucky to be alive. Her favorite thing about teaching is sharing her passion for reading and writing and watching students come alive to a text.

Mrs. Morrison’s piece of advice for graduating seniors is “Believe in yourself, seek your passion and make a difference.”
