The mission of Penn Wood Middle School is to prepare all students for high school & beyond as determined by state standards. This will be accomplished by focusing on instructional rigor, using data to inform instruction, setting high expectations, increasing student engagement, as well as accepting and teaching personal accountability. To that end, our team of educators will collaborate with all stakeholders, combining passion with innovative practices to inspire life long learning.
We believe that:
All students are entitled to the equal access to quality standards-based education in a safe environment.
Despite the many challenges associated with middle grade education, the number one factor impacting student success is high quality instruction.
The successful development of an adolescent depends on support networks consisting of parents, teachers, mentors, administrators, and community.
Constructive and respectful intellectual debate amongst colleagues regarding professional practices is critical to our success.
